Steve
Knowles
Steve brings the strategic focus of a Marketing VP and
the experience of two IPOs to your team. Steve's technical
prowess and product management/marketing discernment come from years
of developing software solutions and managing new technology products.
Prior to founding Marketing Acumen, LLC, Steve served as VP of Marketing at two software start-ups, building marketing departments from the ground up, and defining and executing global marketing strategies that delivered effective corporate branding, collateral/sales tools, product technical direction, product rollout and market penetration, and lead generation/demand creation programs. Formerly, Steve led worldwide Product Marketing for Business Objects, and headed a $15 million business unit for Sybase, where he developed the key strengths he brings to your project:
Steve is also an experienced online marketer who has stayed on top of all the latest advances. He is a graduate of the Wizard Academy "Wizards of Web" and holds the Marketing Experiments Online Testing certification.
Maria
Lopez-Knowles
Maria
is currently a Senior Vice President and International Account Director at
McCann Worldgroup in San Francisco. She combines the strategic focus
developed during eight years as the Director of Marketing Communications
for multiple B2B organizations, with the practical
"get it done" know-how acquired in over a dozen years on the agency side of
the business.
Maria's understanding of global aspects of integrated marketing communications and her ability to manage intricate programs – on time and on budget – come from her years supporting both B2B and B2C businesses. Maria has managed such prestigious accounts as Visa, General Electric, Avery Dennison and Microsoft Corporation. Her ability to map corporate objectives to agency capabilities and deliverables give her a rare depth of insight into effective agency/client relationships. She is an exceptional team player with a distinctive mix of high-tech, consumer and packaged goods expertise.
Maria also has experience on the corporate side of the business, and understands the pressures that in-house Marketing executives face daily. Her wisdom in developing MarCom strategy and her understanding of the tactics required to implement a solid MarCom plan have proved invaluable in directing the marketing communications efforts for a variety of successful organizations.
